Trip to Leh means that one is literally going to
the top of the world . The Leh is in ladakh region of the Jammu and
Kashmir state . It is the capital of the Ladakh . The north most part
of the India . The trip from any part of the north India can be taken
in two direction to reach the leh . The first is short one as
compared to the second one .
It involves passing through hilly tracks of
Himachal Pardesh before reaching the ladakh . The second one
Motorbiketour to Leh is first going to Srinagar via Jammu and
then from Srinagar takng a trip to leh. This Srinagar trip can be
lengthy and more tiring than the trip from Himachal Pardesh side .
Delhi -jammu , srinagar - Leh
trip
The trip from Delh to jammu is very lenghty as it
may involve more than 12 hours or more . The road is smooth and one
has to cross two states to reach jammu . Then from jammu to srinagar
, the road trip can be bit hazardous during rainy or bad weather .
The time it takes to complete the jourrney depends on the speed ,
which may not go beyond 20 km at some places .
The total length of the highway is 295 km . Though
, there are plenty of resting and eating places along the entire
length of the highway , the situation in Srinagar can change anyday
without giving much time to take shelter . And the places where the
highways passes to reach Srinager city are some of the worst affected
places in the valley in recent times . So the best and only option is
to take the trip from Himachal Pardesh side .
Manali- Leh trip -
The hilly track of the trip to leh starts from the
manali in Himachal Pardesh . The bikers have to take proeper rest at
night , so that the alertness is at peak during the bike trip in day
. The trip involves passing the Rohtang pass at the altitude of close
to 4000 meters . One has to prepare to face any kind of weather
during the trip . The jackets and shoes up to ankle are must to
protect the feet from cold weather .
The firm control on brakes is necessary for safe
ride and cold feet may prevent the firm braking during any emergency
. The next destination involves passing Baralachha pass at the height
of 5000 mteters from sea level . From jispa to pang one needs to
cross the tanglang la pass , the second highest motorable Bikeon Rent pass in the world at 5300 meters .After this
pass , the trip to leh is entirely on well maintained roads .
